Digest Diary Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 24, 2026

This Digest Diary Privacy Policy explains how Digest Diary handles information when you use the iPhone app and this website. Digest Diary is built to keep your journal private on your device.

1. Overview of Digest Diary privacy

Digest Diary is a privacy-first food and symptom record-keeping app. The first release does not require an account, does not use advertising, and does not send journal entries to our servers. Your Digest Diary is stored locally on your device.

2. How Digest Diary handles your information

Journal information: Meals, symptoms, severity ratings, bowel movement consistency and urgency, times, durations, tags, notes, templates, and app preferences that you enter are stored locally using Apple’s on-device storage technology. Cloud synchronization is disabled in the first Digest Diary release.

Optional app lock and reminders: If you enable App Lock, Apple’s device authentication checks your identity. Digest Diary receives only whether authentication succeeded; it does not receive or store your biometric data. If you enable a daily check-in reminder, iOS schedules it locally on your device. No reminder server or account is used.

Analytics and advertising: Usage analytics, third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, and advertising profiles are disabled. Digest Diary does not sell your personal information.

3. Digest Diary purchases and network access

Local journal features work without network access. If you choose to view Pro offers, make a purchase, or restore a purchase, Digest Diary asks before enabling network access. Apple processes payment, and RevenueCat helps verify purchase entitlement. These services may process purchase records, app identifiers, and device or transaction information under their own privacy terms. They do not receive your food, symptom, tag, or note content from Digest Diary.

4. Digest Diary reports, backups, sharing, and feedback

PDF and CSV reports are generated on your device. They leave the app only when you choose a destination in Apple’s share sheet. Once shared, the recipient or destination service controls its copy.

Complete journal backups are generated as portable JSON files on your device. A backup leaves the app only when you choose where to save or share it. When you import a backup, Digest Diary merges entries by their identifiers and leaves existing copies unchanged.

If you email support, we receive the information you include. When enabled, the feedback draft may include basic diagnostics such as app version, iOS version, device model, and Pro status. It does not attach your diary automatically.

5. Retention and your Digest Diary choices

  • You may edit or delete individual journal entries in the app.
  • You may delete all journal data from Privacy & Data settings.
  • Local journal data remains until you delete it or remove the app and its data.
  • You control whether to export or share a report.
  • You control whether to create, save, share, or import a journal backup.
  • App Lock and the daily reminder are optional and may be disabled at any time.
  • You may decline purchase-related network access and continue using free local features.

6. Children and Digest Diary

Digest Diary is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Digest Diary policy changes and contact

We may update this Digest Diary Privacy Policy when the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. Questions can be sent to hi@codemxm.com.
